The Government Legislation Centre published on-line draft of the Finance Minister regulation on certain deadlines for compliance with recordkeeping obligations and for preparation, approval, publication and registration of statements or disclosures.

As part of the emergency regulations designed to combat adverse effects of the coronavirus epidemic, businesses will be allowed to postpone certain deadlines, including:

  1. the deadline to prepare and sign financial statements, if they were originally supposed to be prepared and signed within a maximum of three months after the financial year;
  2. the deadline to approve financial statements, if they were originally supposed to be approved within a maximum of six months after the financial year.

The proposed extension is 3 months. Thus, in the case of financial years coinciding with the calendar year, the new deadline to prepare and sign financial statements for 2019 will be moved to 30 June 2020 while the new deadline to have them approved will be moved to 30 September 2020.

The proposed regulation is scheduled to become effective on 31 March 2020.
