Acting on the international Public Access to Defibrillation (PAD) initiative designed to increase the safety and effectiveness of first aid through better access to defibrillators, Doradztwo Podatkowe WTS&SAJA Sp. z o.o. has funded the installation of an automated external defibrillator (AED) in the Bałtyk building.
AED is a small, portable and fully automatic device whose operation does not require any special training. AED walks the user through the entire action protocol via voice commands. It has two electrodes which need to be applied to the chest of the injured person in accordance with guidance on each of the electrodes. Once the electrodes are attached, AED will diagnose cardiac rhythms and decide whether defibrillation is necessary, giving the user messages on the subsequent steps to be taken.
The AED in the Bałtyk building is publicly accessible on the ground floor of the building.
