At a press briefing on 26 April 2024, Finance Minister Andrzej Domański disclosed a new effective date for the National E-Invoicing System (KSeF) to become mandatory.

“We’ve decided on a staggered entry into force of the National E-Invoicing System, which will become mandatory as of 1 February 2026 for businesses with revenues above PLN 200M and as of 1 April 2026 for all others,” said the Minister.

The proposal to move the effective date back to 2026 is taken on the back of an IT audit which revealed numerous errors and performance issues in the KSeF environment. The Ministry said it will be necessary to design a new system architecture and develop new software.

The regulations amending the current effective date legislation are supposed to be adopted by 30 June 2024. At the same time, the Finance Ministry has offered to launch a number of user support tools to ensure taxpayers are well prepared for KSeF implementation.
