KSeF was to be in force as of July 1 this year. However, it will most likely not come into force on the this date, said Minister of Finance Andrzej Domański today morning.

During the press conference, Minister of Finance Andrzej Domański informed about “critical errors” in the code regarding the functionality and efficiency of the e-invoice system, which stops its entry into force from July 2024. He also assured that the Ministry of Finance, taking care of the stability of economic transactions, does not want to allow it to become paralyzed. A tender for an external audit of KSeF and further consultations was announced. At the same time, he confirmed that KSeF would be introduced as soon as possible.

As a reminder, using KSeF – issuing and receiving invoices electronically – is currently voluntary. The obligation to use KSeF was to be mandatory from July 1, 2024 for most Polish taxpayers. As of now, no legislative changes have even been proposed. The press conference of the Minister of Finance is probably the first step towards appropriate changes to the Act.

We will keep you updated on further developments in the introduction of the mandatory KSeF.
